3 Day/2 Nights Big Jungle Trek

This trip is for the hiking enthusiast as we spend 2 days of trekking into the jungle and one day of activities.  You get to spend two nights in local villages, where you can observe and learn about the different ethnic tribes, learn about local village life, and even taking a cooking class from the locals.

Day 1-We go by Tuk Tuk to a village 12 Km from Nong Khiaw, we then set out for a 4-5 hours trek into the deep jungle to the small village of Na Luong.  Here we will have lunch, relax, play with the children.  You also have an opportunity to learn bamboo handicraft with a local teacher.  We will have dinner here also.  If you are interested, you can learn how to cook Lao dishes.  After dinner, you can observe village life as your host family prepare your bedding for your homestay.

Day 2-After breakfast we begin our trek into the deep jungle again to a "secret" waterfall.  Here we can break and enjoy the waters of the waterfall along with a view of the valley down below.  We then continue our trek down to the riverside village of Houy Hoi.  This trek is 4-5 hours long.  Houy Hoi is a riverside village where you can take a swim in the Nam Ou river or stroll through small village as the childrens gathers around you.  Here we will have dinner and our second homestay.

Day 3 of our trip is more activities and less jungle trekking.  after breakfast we head up to Muang Ngoi Viewpoint and Cave where you can gaze down on the scenic village of Muang Ngoi and the Nam Ou river.

After Muang Ngoi we head down river to Sop Kong village.  From the river we will walk through beautiful rice paddies as we make our way to Tad Mok Waterfall.  Tad Mok has water year round so it's never a bad time to visit this waterfall.  We will break for lunch by the waterfall before we head back to Nong Khiaw.
