2 Day Trek with Homestay

The 2 day trek is a great chance for travelers learn about the customs, traditions, and cultures of the local villages.  Don't hesitate to ask your tour guides if you have any questions during your trip.  

On the first day we leave the office at 9 AM.  We trek for 2 hours in the morning and rest at 11:30 AM in a small Khmu village where a local family will serve lunch for the group.  Here you have a chance to relax and explore the small village before we take a 4 hours trek into the deep jungle and finish at the riverside village of Houy Hoi.

At Houy Hoi you can swim in the river if you like or you can take a stroll through this simple Lao village and see firsthand what village life is like.  A host family will prepare dinner for you, they can give you a cooking class if you desire.  After dinner you can relax by the fire.  The next day you will be serve breakfast and coffee and prepare for day 2 of your tour.


Day 2 begins with a boat pick up at 9:30 AM.  We will take a 40 minutes boat ride to Muang Ngoi Viewpoint and Cave where our second day of activities begins.

From the boat in Muang Ngoi, we will climb up the trail to visit Mung Ngoi viewpoint.  Although not very high, it does gives a nice view of the river and Muang Ngoi village below.  We also explore a cave half way up to the viewpoint.

Leaving Mung Ngoi, the boat will take you to the village of Ban Sop Kong.  We then hike for 1 hour to Tak Mok waterfall where we will enjoy a picnic lunch by the waterfall.  We then drop by Yesabai organic farm for a break.  Here you can order drinks while enjoying the quite surroundings.


We end the day with a kayaking trip back to  Nong Khiaw.  During the 1 hour of kayaking you can observe birds and buffaloes bathing in the river as you admire the Lao sunset.
